I’ve created a training simulation and I notice that Hint Captions are not firing.
Shouldn’t the hints fire after the first attempt failure if I allow two attempts?
If so, what might be the issue?

Did you understand my explanation? I was travelling, and it could have been to short. Please, give me details about what you want to do exactly.
Hint captions appear when hovering near the place where you have to click, not always that useful. Can you tell what you really want to achieve? Maybe I can offer a workflow?
Though this was not my post, I believe this person was looking to do what I am. That would be to have a “hint” caption appear after 3 failed attempt in order to guide them to the correct response. I was able to do a simple advanced action (show & pause) to have a caption appear after 3 wrong tries on a click button, but I am not able to get it to work for a text caption. Any ideas?
Please start a new thread. You see that the OP has never bothered to look for an answer, or I would already have posted a solution.
