In this video, I review some hints and tips for creating text to speech in Adobe Captivate.

Can I utilize text to speech and audio files in the same slide? Example, I am doing a Q&A- the text to speech would be the question and I have audio files for the answer. Is that possible?
You can attach any audio to the feedback captions in a question slide. You could use a hidden blank slide elsewhere in your course to generate the text to speech audio. Select the feedback caption in your question slide and from the Properties Inspector / Options tab you can attach the audio to the appearance of that feedback caption. Keep in mind that if you are using closed captioning, it can only be applied to coincide with slide audio or slide video.
Thanks for posting this information Paul. I am working in Captivate 2017 and created a responsive project with narration on each slide. I published the content and ran it and while the slides do not change until I click the forward navigation button, the audio for the next page starts to play. So for example, the intro page displays and the narration associated with that page plays and then almost immediately, the audio from the next slide starts playing even though I haven’t navigated to the next page yet. Have you seen this problem before? It also occurs in Preview. Thanks.
Not personally. I generally move my side audio on the timeline to start about 500 milliseconds in. I also leave another half second without audio at the end of each slide. Perhaps that might help.
Thanks. I will give that a try.
