Question about Text to Speech and to Closed Captions

I am trying to add text to the slides, and then generate speech and closed captions from the same text.

I have done what I have found on youtube etc, but I cannot generate the closed captions, and I wanted to check with the community if I am missing something.

I have clicked on both the text to speech and Closed Captions buttons as shown in the picture, but when I preview I do not see the closed captions.

You didn’t attach a picture, which is a pity.

This is the workflow I normally follow in the rare situation that I use TTS because I largely prefer to record my (real) voice for narration:

  1. Open Slide notes panel, it will appear in the bottom docking station (where you also find the Timeline).
  2. Add as many sentences as you need, each as a separate note using the + icon. I indicated this in green as 1.
  3. For TTS check the icon indicated in blue (2). If you use the one in top all sentences will be checked.
  4. Click now the TTS icon indicated in red (3) to open the TTS dialog box.
  5. You can use the default voice, or choose a voice for each of the sentences as you wish.
  6. Click the Generate Audio button (bottom left).
  7. Audio will be generated for all the sentences and added as slide audio to the active slide. Its duration will be increased (you may have to confirm this).  Audio clip will also appear in the Project Library. It will remain there even if you delete the slide narration by clicking its timeline.

Now you can activate the other button (Closed Captioning) right of the TTS button in the slide notes panel to open the CC dialog box. That button will no longer be dimmed (as in the screenshot) because you have audio on the slide which is needed to allow CC.

Do you need more information about using CC?
