It has been many years since I worked with captivate 9 and when I did use it, svg files were not allowed to be buttons. Now many years and many software generations later captivate 2019 still does not allow svg files for buttons. Can anyone explain the reason for this delay. Raster images don’t like resizing in progressive development, but vector (svg) has no problem.
Thanks
Richard
I love the new possibility to use SVG’s directly as buttons in 11.5. Moreover, contrary to other buttons, you can limit the clickable area to the SVG itself instead of the bounding box. I already posted several blogs about this great enhancement in the most recent update. Here is one example:
Hello SarahSP,
I’ve found that you can drag an svg file directly to stage, or pull it in from your library, and click the “Use as button” option withing the “properties” window. I’m using 2019 (v 11.5.1.499) in both Win and Mac versions – it works the same.
You are correct, however, that you cannot pull an svg into a shape and then define that as a button. You are however limited in the graphic options for styling your RollOver, Down and visited states. You can add normal shapes to the state in order to create visual distinctions.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards.
