Captivate with Branching, Branch Aware and Return to Quiz

We’ve created a demonstration video on how to complete a Captivate Project with Branching, Branch Aware and Return to Quiz. We’ve also had some fun with this by adding a little bit of JavaScript to create some randomness when the user “selects” the branch. You can find the blog post with video and timestamped table of contents here https://learningplan.com.au/captivate-branch-aware-return-to-quiz-javascript/ Hope you enjoy.

Engaging Learning

This article was originally published on the Learning Plan blog and is posted here with permission from the author. What can we learn from the learning experts? Who are the learning experts? We think we found one . . . We recently found ourselves watching a university lecture from Stanford University about Human Behavioral Biology (see the lecture below) delivered by the esteemed professor Robert Sapolsky. He introduces the lecture with a scenario, literally in the first 10 seconds of the […]

Naming conventions in development

First of all, what are naming conventions? Good question! Our definition first, then we’ll share some wider thoughts on the topic. Naming conventions allow us to apply a pattern and standard to the way we name things within our computer environment. This could be from names of actual files, to folders, to how we store contacts in a CRM (“First name, Last name” or “Last Name, First Name” for example). If we have a standard by which we name things, […]

Creating Mult-device learning using Scalable HTML

In this webinar recording we look at one of our preferred approaches when creating content that needs to be viewed across multiple devices, without using fluid boxes. This saves design and development time. The trick is to publish as Scalable HTML. Example built in the video https://learningthatworks.com.au/review/scalable_portrait/ We created our end of year Christmas Party game using Scalable HTML5 https://learningplan.com.au/christmas-game/

Adobe Captivate, SCORM and a Learning Management System (LMS)

A practical demonstration of SCORM at work, from the authoring tool (Adobe Captivate) to the Learning Management System (LMS). We have used Moodle (https://moodlecloud.com) as the LMS for this demonstration. What we show you first is the end result that a student will experience as a user of a learning management system and going through the course. You’ll see the learning module that we’re going to create as the end user experiences it. We’ll then take you into the same […]

In this webinar, we examine image behaviours, tips and workarounds. We also look at the inbuilt Adobe Captivate editing functionality. Don’t know how to insert an image at all? You’ll learn that too!

Webinar Recording – How to create multi-device eLearning using Adobe Captivate

We’ve all experienced responsive web design, usually in the form of web pages that make use of flexible layouts, images and cascading style sheets (CSS) that detect your mobile phone’s screen size and orientation and change the layout accordingly. As more organisations embrace learning across multiple devices (desktops, laptops, tablets and phones) we now need to develop content that is responsively designed to work across these environments. Where do you start? What are the best practices? Where’s my hoverboard?! In […]
