Imagine Oregon’s forests, where trees adapt and innovate to flourish as a resilient ecosystem. Businesses, too, thrive not through mere efficiency but through adaptability and innovation. At a recent HR Strategy Forum on AI, discussions about productivity often boiled down to headcount reductions. But this misses the real potential of AI—not as a cost-cutting tool, but as a means to redirect energy toward creativity, research, and problem-solving.
Research shows innovative companies outlast their peers, using AI to automate routine tasks and empower employees. The key? Implement AI thoughtfully to transform—not replace—jobs, enabling both businesses and individuals to reach their full potential. Let’s focus on innovation to build a future as enduring as a forest.
Now that we’ve looked at a lot of the AI technologies that can come into play when creating elearning courses, let’s dig in to what we can use the All-New Adobe Captivate for today. Building out an elearning course shouldn’t be difficult, and one of the major advantages of using Adobe Captivate is that it can be incredibly simple to assemble your content. Let’s look at the fundamental concepts that you need to understand to use the All-New Adobe Captivate. […]
Creating the course for me begins with the outline, but I will bounce around quite a bit gathering images, writing content in line with the storyboard / outline and overall imagery. It is not unlike the way I paint, sort of blocking together broad strokes of color, highlight and shadow and slowly filling in the details. This is probably not the way that most people work. In fact we generally see people begin with a very clearly defined set of […]
In the previous article, I used ChatGPT to create the foundation for a scenario based course that I will create in the All-New Adobe Captivate. For this second part, I’m going to develop that initial content into the structure for our interactive scenario. Generally speaking, branched scenarios can rapidly become complex enough that you will want to use some kind of image mapping tool to visualize the different branches. This is especially true if you think that the branches might […]
This week I will be using AI to create an interactive scenario with the All-New-Adobe Captivate. I’ll do it in several parts because it will definitely be a lengthy one. I will begin with using AI Based Chat GPT 4 to help generate the content / story structure in this first installation. Later I will walk you through creating the course structure, the scenario, the interactions, the evaluation mechanics and further leveraging AI to generate the images for the course. […]
Adobe said they would drop frequent updates for the All-New Adobe Captivate (version 12) and just five weeks after the launch the first update (v. 12.1) has been announced. Users can open the Help: Updates menu item in the All-New Adobe Captivate to update to this new version now. Adobe recommends all users install this update which fixes a couple of crash bugs, adresses some issues with image filters and image cropping, and fixes several additional bugs. The fix is […]
For decades eLearning developers have often turned to Microsoft PowerPoint to facilitate the creation of both slides to supplement a live face to face or virtual lecture, and to serve as the base for an online eLearning course. The latest release of Adobe Captivate both supports and doesn’t support the import of PowerPoint. (Adobe has released two versions of Captivate (one called Captivate Classic, and the other called the All-New Adobe Captivate.) Powerpoint import is supported in Captivate Classic, and […]
The world really does just keep spinning faster, at least the world of modern business. The demand to develop more courses, more content and do so at a higher quality is unbelievably high. Many times over the past few years I have heard learning leaders with Fortune 100 companies telling me that they were forced to deliver complete courses in well under a week. Some have told me that the expected shelf life of these courses can easily be under […]
When you initially open the All-New Adobe Captivate, you might well notice a dark green course built right into the launch page. It looks like this: This is a great introduction to the All-New Adobe Captivate. It’s extremely well done, and it focuses on the narrow set of features that establish the paradigm (or the rules) for how to interact with virtually everything that follows. So if you have been wondering how to get started – and how to make […]
Okay, so if there are now two versions of Adobe Captivate, and both are new / updated, how do I know which one to use in which circumstance? With the most recent release of Adobe Captivate – two versions were introduced by Adobe. One of them is technically version 11.8.2 (Adobe Captivate Classic) and the other one is version 12.0.0. (the All-New Adobe Captivate.) You might have noticed that I did a video to compare the two of them here: […]
No, you aren’t hallucinating, that is me wearing a Tux – dressed to the nines for the Annual Training Magazine Gala, celebrating the best in training and development for the year. I was thrilled to represent Adobe along with many others at the 2023 Learning Leaders Summit and at the Annual Training Magazine Conference. We kicked things off on Sunday with an incredible Learning Leaders summit hosted at KPMG’s Lakehouse Training Facility in Orlando. The staff and facilities were jaw […]
