The new subscription plan that we introduced has been received with a lot of enthusiasm, and has been heralded as a possible game changer in our eLearning industry. One of the key drivers for this pricing model was that- in today’s environment, technology and market changes happen way too rapidly for customers to be satisfied with an 18 month release cycle. Going forward, Captivate, Presenter and eLearning Suite will have much more frequent releases. With this in perspective, the subscription […]
We’re happy to announce the winners of our Scenario Training contest! We had some great entries and also significant interest from the community. The entries received close to 10,000 Facebook ‘Likes’. The people’s choice award goes to Steve Shatkin, for his entry ‘Some tips to make you a better poker player’. Steve has definitely inspired me to try and create another scenario training on Poker tips, possibly playing out each scenario even when a user makes a wrong choice- thus […]
The Captivate HTML5 contest has closed for entries. The viewing gallery is still open to give you an opportunity to cast your vote. Thank you for participating in this contest. The general interest can be gauged from the fact that many of the top entries have close to 10,000 views and 1,500 FB ‘Likes’ each. This video from Dustin has been gaining in popularity across our FB and Linked-in forums. I’m posting it here for the benefit of our blog readers. Dustin shows not just how to use the HTML5 converter, but also how to convert this into an iPad app and test it using Adobe PhoneGap. Now to see if we can build all this into a seamless workflow for you in our upcoming versions J Tip: Using the playbar to navigate seems out-of-place […]
Our community has embraced social media with gusto, and in the last year this has presented some interesting challenges- for one, the number of forums and sites discussing Captivate related threads have multiplied. While this allowed our users to seek answers in the forum they felt most comfortable in, it also meant that you were missing out on some great discussions happening elsewhere. Introducing http://captivate.adobe.com : Over the past few weeks we’ve been doing the groundwork to transition our Captivate […]
Recently there was a unique quiz usecase discussed on our Facebook page, where the trainer wanted to create a slightly different compliance or mandatory training course. The requirement was that for each question, the answer selected by the participant in the first attempt would be used for scoring. But they also wanted to ensure that the participant moved to question #2 only after answering question #1 right, and so on. Here is a 3 question quiz that highlights this usecase […]
We’ve just released a new patch for Adobe Captivate 5. This patch contains a new feature, and a few bug fixes. The issues fixed in this patch are: LMS An AICC-compliant Adobe Captivate course does not launch successfully if the web server on which the course is hosted, and the LMS, which is used to track to course, are on different domains. When a SCORM-compliant course is launched, the SWF file hangs at the loading screen. In a SCORM-compliant course, […]

We had a great kick-off to our Captivate training program last week, with more than 200 attendees. The feedback we’ve received this far is very positive and the trainers are busy providing the finishing touches to the next module scheduled for March 3rd. The next session will be a continuation of last week’s Application Capture workflow training, and will address Capture features like Full Motion Recording and Manual Recording. We are striving to make these sessions more interactive and participatory […]
