Workaround for Text Entry Box “Retain Text” not working in responsive projects

The “Retain Text” option does not work in responsive projects for text entry boxes. I have tried using variables as a work around but cannot find out how to assign the text of the TEB. I suspect that this might not be possible so will have to come up with an alternative, but if someone already has a workaround I would love to know!

My published Captivate projects not loading on any browsers unless I manually enable Javascript all the time what can i do. I need help. I have published as HTML5 but still having problem loading. Browsers are blocking it.  I even tried to upload it here but it says its invalid file type . Its zip, what am I doing wrong. Any help!
