I’ve learned that choosing the right font in Captivate isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about the experience you want to create.
Here’s my simple rule:
Google Fonts: These are perfect when you want your course to stand out. For example, I used a bold, modern Google Font for a marketing course once. It helped capture the brand’s edgy vibe and made the content feel fresh and engaging.
System Fonts: I rely on these for projects where performance is the priority. Think quick compliance training or information-heavy modules. I’ve used System Fonts for safety training before, and it always works. The loading time is faster, and learners get a smooth experience, no matter their device.
It’s about knowing what feels right for the project we’re working on.
The lesson here? Focus on your content, the learner’s experience, and what best supports our goals.
So, what works for you? Do you prefer Google Fonts or stick to system fonts for your eLearning projects?
