I saw a post on the forums recently where a person didn’t understand why the images they imported into their eLearning project were not showing up, were slow to load, or were showing up as red boxes. My experience is that the images being selected were too large for the elearning course. This video is my workflow for optimising and importing stock photography into my eLearning project, so they take up as little space as possible and still look good.
I watched your video and followed your advice. A really useful bit of advice, indeed. What you suggested should be an obvious thing to do, but I never cared before, though I should have. As you said, why do you need a picture 4000 px large if 1024 is sufficient?
Great tips! My feeling is that the work in Cp should begin once all this type of pre-work and preparation is near complete. There is this feeling that Captivate can handle/process everything since it’s such a powerful software. But, it runs a whole lot better (and the experience of developing is a whole lot more fun) if your library of images, icons and content are set and ready to go.
