How do I create a female American voiceover for my video demonstration using text-to-speech?
Hello all,
How do I create narration using text-to-speech in Captivate 2019?
I’ve created a video demo and now want to add a narration to it that’s in a female American accent, rather than my British one.
Thank you.
Henry
Maybe you didn’t install the voices. I mostly use Slide notes to open the TTS dialog box but you can also use Project, Speech Management. I cannot show you the button which allows you to install the voices, because they are already installed, highlighted those coming with 11.5.
If you are on Windows the voices will be installed directly under Program Files (not in the Captivate installation folder), folder labeled ‘Adobe Captivate Voices 2019×64‘.
Can you check?
Check the version number under Help, About Captivate. It should be 11.5.1.499.
You didn’t install the voices. Open Speech Management (under Audio menu) and you should see a warning that the voices are not yet installed, and a button to install them. That folder should have a subfolder VT with all the voices and is 1.72GB in size.
Lieve,
I couldn’t find the voices, even in software sim in demo mode.
And as it happened I sent the prototype of my project for internal review yesterday and they didn’t like the voice I got from a 3rd party programme.
