What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

VR learning design for behavioral learning in Austistic students

Hello Adobe Captivate Community.  I’m really excited about Captivates 2019 update which has added VR projects to its capabilities. I’m interested in gathering research on the use of Captivate’s VR capabilities in creating behavioral learning for Autistic students.  Does anyone out there know of existing programs or best practices for creating behavioral learning modules through VR learning design?

Why can’t I preview?

Hi – In all captivate files, like the sample ones, I can only preview current slide. But when I click Preview-Project, or Preview-Next 5 slides, nothing happens. I’m concerned and would appreciate suggestions.

How to measure the impact of your L&D program?

Organizational competitiveness depends on learning agility of modern workforce. As technology adoption rate is increasing, businesses require new skill sets to cut through the intense competition. L&D initiatives employed to up-skill or re-skill employees measure the quality of the efforts but often miss out on the value they add to the business results. Also in a situation where talent management is constrained with time, intent, and budget, the unclear value-add of L&D to business can stop organizations from investing in such programs. These factors make it important […]

Accessiblity with Slide Overlays (overtop of video backgrounds)

Hello Everyone I am developing a Captivate presentation using interactive video backgrounds with slide overlays. However, I have learned that there is accessibility limitations.   Some of my clients use ‘screen readers’ because of a visual impairment.  (Jaws,  and Dragon) Is this the case?   Will screen readers no be able to pick up the overlay slide content when it sits on top of a video? Any tips to get around this would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Todd

Captivate 2019 – Using Smart Shapes instead of Text Captions causes Captivate Crash

Prior to installing 11.5 Update, Captivate 2019 worked as expected. I hate the outdated look of the various text captions, so when creating a software simulation (demonstration) I set my preferences to use Smart Shapes instead of text Captions. After updating, Captivate crashes using Smart Shapes as Captions.

Default Quiz Question Caption

I changed the default incorrect message text in the default labels section of the Quiz preferences. The new text appears only for incorrect answers on the first question and then the incorrect text message reverts to the previous text. How do I get the new incorrect message to apply to all of the questions. I’m using Captivate 2019 version 11.0.1.266. Dan Huber
