Team member Properties, Assets, or Exit Master buttons on toolbar missing

How did this happen? He does not have any of these three buttons, but has the Library button on the toolbar. I did not see anything on the internet about this.

Was this an answer to your problem with differences in the UI? If you have set up the Expert UI, only the Assets button will remain in the right part, not the Library nor the Properties button.

Please check the full version number. Look under Help, About Captivate. The new Assets button next to the Library (and Properties) button in the newbie UI, only appeared in 11.5, was not available in 11.0.
