Has anyone seen the issue of upon opening a Captivate file (one that was just created yesterday) now shows every slide on the stage blank while I can clearly see the content on the filmstrip. I’m using Captivate 2019 v 11.5.1.449

on a brand new laptop with a fresh install of Windows 10, 64 bit

I heard about this problem by several users recently.  Can you try to clean the Preferences? Find the subfolder ‘utils’ under the installation folder and run the CleanPreferences… file appropriate for your OS while Captivate is closed.

Have also a look at your cache folder: is it not time to clear it? It can done from the Preferences, General Settings. If you keep your most recent project open while doing that clear, the cache for that project will not be cleared.

On the filmstrip, are there red x’s next to the items? Or is the eye icon showing? If you see red x’s this means that that the items are hidden on the screen. You can hide and show items on the filmstrip by using those eyeballs/x’s to show or hide overlapping content.

Sorry Michael, probably bit of a terminology confusion. The eyeball button is not in the Filmstrip but in the Timeline. On the Filmstrip you can hide a slide with the right-click menu.

Thanks, Lieve, You’re totally right. I meant Timeline but said filmstrip. Thanks for clarifying!

A good glossary would be so beneficial for everyone… Captivate has to many terms.
