Hiding playbar in video
(1)

We are inserting a video in the interactive learning session we are building in Captivate 2019. We want to be sure the learner watches the entire video (which also has Knowledge checks).  Is the best way to ensure they do that by hiding the play bar?

I never like forcing adult learners at all. Even if they wait silently while the video plays, you still don’t know if they really watched and understood it. Your Knowledge Check slides are a much better test.

Personally I never use a playbar, always set up custom navigation, because the playbar is too confusing if you have a non-linear project (branching). Since you use a playbar, which can be set up only for the whole project, you could hide it using the On Enter action of that video slide. Since you talk about overlay KC slides, I know it has been inserted as slide video which is controlled by Captivate. Be sure to show the playbar again on the next slide. If you allow free navigation in your project, I would recommend to add the command to show the playbar on all slides where you want it. You can select them all at once in the Filmstrip, doesn’t have to be done on each slide manually.
