Slide Advances if Answer Choice is Not Clicked Precisely on Quiz

I am having some issues with a quiz where if I don’t click precisely on my answer choice (radio button) the first time, the second click will advance the slide. This requires me to go back and re-select my answer. My fear is that once this quiz gets deployed to the LMS users will probably miss that and fail the quiz as a result. It’s as if there is a really sensitive trigger. Is this a setting that can be turned off? Please advise.

Did you accidentally change the size of the click region or have any transparent boxes on top?

Believe me, this is not a normal behavior at all on quiz slides. Normally you don’t need to click the radio button in a MCQ with one correct answer or  a T/F question. The whole answer region is clickable, not only the radiobutton (or checkbox).

Let us try to find out the reasons of your problems, but I need more information in that case:

  • Can you insert a screenshot of the Quiz Properties, part Actions: how many attempts, what is the action On Success and Last Attempt.
  • Which theme are you using in this project? The quizzing master slides are part of that theme. Is it a theme packaged with Captivate, present version or is it a Custom theme. If it is a custom theme, was it upgraded to the version you are using?
  • Did you delete any of the embedded objects on the quizzing master slide or the quiz slides? Embedded objects do not have an individual timeline. Some of them have inbuilt functionality, if you delete them the quiz slides may start to behave weirdly. Some can be unchecked so that they don’t appear, which is OK.
  • Which exact version do you use on which OS? You need the full version number which you can find under Help, About Captivate.
