We are pleased to announce that we have released Adobe Captivate 11.8. It is a subscription-only release.
The build contains support for Windows 11, macOS Big Sur and Monterey. Also, the build supports M1 chipsets on Mac machines.
You need to have an active subscription of Adobe Captivate to use the build. If you do not have an active subscription, the new update will revert to a trial mode. If you have already used your trial, you will be unable to use the build.
Active subscribers will need to uninstall and reinstall Adobe Captivate to access the 11.8 update. You can install version 11.8 from the free trial page.
If you create a project with build 11.5.5, it will open in build 11.8, but a project created with build 11.8 will not open in build 11.5.5.
For more information, see Adobe Captivate 11.8 release notes.
If we already have an active subscription, I don’t understand why we cannot just click on an update button. Why do we have to go through all of this uninstall/install stuff? Also, it’s not available to anyone that uses a school account, which many Captivate users have because we work in education! And, what does one do if they had a trial account?
You might end up downloading the 11.5 version if you don’t clear your browser cache before downloading it. I would recommend using your browser’s incognito mode to download this version if you don’t wish to clear your browser cache. To be sure you’re downloading the correct version, you can check your ongoing downloads from your browser (Ctrl+J for Chrome) and make sure the source contains 11_8 in it’s description as shown below.
