Question: How to Publish/ Upload all new Captivate Course content into your Adobe Learning Manager account.

Answer:

After thoroughly going through this blog, you will have a clear understanding of how to publish the all new Adobe Captivate course content into a SCORM file and then upload the same SCORM file into your Adobe Learning Manager account in order to build a course accordingly.

In order to upload a captivate course into the Adobe Learning Manager platform, you will need to initially create/ publish a SCORM package into your local folder and then upload this package in your ALM account’s Content Library section by logging in as an Author.

Hence, to perform the above steps, you will need the New Adobe Captivate 12 application license and should also have an Author role associated with your ALM account.

Here is a Step-by-Step procedure explained for your ease:

Step 1:  To start publishing a captivate project/ course content, please open your Adobe Captivate 12 project file (.cpt) in the all new Captivate application and then click on the File menu.

Step 2:  Now select the Publish option as shown in the above screenshot

Step 3:  Once you click on the Publish option, a new pop-up in app window will open for you to enter the Project title and the desired Location to save your Published SCORM content.

Step 4:  As soon as the Location has been selected and the project tile has been given to your course content, simply click on “Publish” button as shown in the below screenshot to publish the captivate course content as a SCORM file into your Local folder:

Step 5:   Now that the SCORM file has been published onto your local folder in the (.zip) format, kindly login to your Adobe Learning Manager account as an Author and then navigate yourselves to –> Content Library section to upload the published SCORM course content.

Step 6:  Click on “Add” button and then follow the on-screen prompts shown in the “Add New Content” pop-up window (as shown in the below example snippets):

Step 7:  Please fill in the following mandatory fields while adding the new content:
*Name
*Add Content File
*Add to Folder

Step 8:  Once the necessary information has been added, click on the “upload” icon as shown in the above screenshot to upload your published SCORM content into your ALM Account and then click on Save button on the top right corner.

As soon as the Save button is clicked, the content will take some time to finish the processing and it should then be available for you to build/ create courses in your ALM account.

In case you encounter any issues while uploading the content into the Adobe Learning Manager account, please feel free to reach out to the Adobe Learning Manager support at learningmanagersupport@adobe.com
