I have a training module put together and everything is working fine but I discovered a bug that I can’t fix. I am not sure if it is a problem with the quiz settings in the module, or a problem with our LMS, or a combination of the two.
If the learner is in the middle of the final quiz (10 multiple choice questions), and they close the window or exit the module, when they go back to the module through the LMS, it will show the quiz questions that were already answered (things greyed out), but there is no way to navigate past them to continue where they left off. So they are essentially stuck. Through a lot of messing around, I figured out that if they can get back to the first unanswered question, they can continue on, and everything works fine, and the quiz is scored correctly.
There needs to be a button on each previously answered question slide so they can move forward to the actual point where they left off, or there needs to be a way to change a setting so the quiz goes back to the first unanswered question, or I would even settle for something that resets the quiz altogether forcing them to restart if they don’t finish it to begin with.
Any ideas?

What solution did you end up implementing? I’m having the same issue, people start the quiz and don’t finish it during that interaction and when they come back to it, they can’t progress forward. It’s maddening to say the least.
Part of what you explain is default behavior. But first you need to detect if the problem is due to Captivate or to the LMS you are using. Please upload the published SCO to SCORM Cloud. If you have the same behavior, we need to search indeed in the Captivate set up.
Answered questions are indeed greyed out once the learner leaves a question. Not normal is that the learner is returned to the last answered question when taking another session. I hope you took out the playbar for the quiz (is in Quiz Preferences). I would like to see your Quiz Preferences.
