I would like to add a character and place it in the middle of the screen then have a couple of buttons that will populate next the character at certain times along times timeline.
I was able to do all of this in the old Captivate, but I can’t even figure out how to get the character in the middle of the screen. Not even sure how I can add multiple characters to the middle of the screen to space out in the timeline to show it is moving.
I can’t even figure out how to make a banner across the top with the name of the training on the left side and have an image of the logo on the right. I easily figured it out in the old version, but this new one is NOT user friendly for users that would like to build their pages themselves and not use pre-created templates.
Your conclusion is to the point. At this moment the new version can be compared with Rise from the concurrent, which is aimed at people who do not want to customize the eLearning courses, just use some templates and canned widgets to quickly produce something which may be sufficient.
For real professional courses you want to use all your skills, and need a professional tool like Captivate classic. It has all the features you are looking for, including roundtripping with multiple Adobe applications, a more solid Theme for consistency in design, and especially Libraries which can be used externally in any new projects and don’t only include much used assets but also Shared actions for reusability of scripts.
