Hi out there!

I have a problem when I publish SCORM files from Adobe Captivate Classic. I have tried to upload to Adobe Cloud and it works perfect with no error messages. But when I try to open the Scorm-package in a browser it comes with an error message:

“An error has occured: Error – unable to aquire LMS API, content may not play properly and result may not be recorded. Please contact technical support. Press OK to view debug information to send to technical support”

My SCORM package will nok load in LMS Systems.

I use Captivate Classic version 11.8.2.216

Below you can see the error message and the report from Adobe Cloud. Hope to hear from you out there 🙂

Hello

It appears that there is a problem with the SCORM file export from Adobe Captivate Classic. An issue with LMS integration is indicated by the error message “Error – unable to acquire LMS API, content may not play properly and result may not be recorded”.

Here are a few steps for troubleshooting:

Make that the SCORM packages from Captivate Classic 11.8.2.216 are supported by your LMS.
For LMS compatibility, check the SCORM output settings in Captivate.
Check if the SCORM package meets the requirements of your LMS.
To look for browser-specific problems, test the SCORM package across a variety of browsers.
Check the debug information for details on specific errors.
If problems continue, get in touch with Adobe support for more help.

I use: 11.8.2.216

When you select Preview in top menu, you can select “Preview in SCORM Cloud”. It shows how your SCORM-project will react in a LMS server enviroment. And Reporting in Quiz is activated. LMS is here set to SCORM 1.2. This is the settings I have used for years with succes. But updates in browsers now gives the mentioned error message.

You are on a very buggy release, sorry but I have frequent problems as well, reason why I downgraded one system to 11.5.5.553 for professional jobs.

Can you specify which browsers you used?  I prefer to upload directly to SCORM Cloud for testing, it is possible that the Preview in SCORM Cloud (which is Rustici, not Adobe) is one bug more in your version. I always use the most recent version of browsers. Never use Safari, Chrome and Edge should be fine as well as Firefox.

Which exact version do you use?  I am confused by the tag ‘swf/html’ which doesn’t appear anymore in the real Captivate Classic (11.8). I also have problems with what you mean by ‘Adobe Cloud’? Is it the Creative Cloud?

My first suspicion from the Error you show is that you didn’t set up Reporting under Quiz Preferences which is necessary to create a SCO when publishing. Only a few LMSs also accept non-Scorm packages.
