Some more details are needed:

  • Which exact version are you  using CP2019 is the common name for 3 main releases and several patch releases. You find the full version number under Help, About Captivate.
  • How did you insert that video: as slide video or as event video?

Closed captioning normally is done in Captivate so that it synchronises with CP’s timeline, but that is only possible using slide video.
