How can I add an interactive element to my video at a specific timestamp in Adobe Captivate? I want to create a bookmark that triggers a quiz overlay when reached by the viewer. Can someone guide me through the steps to achieve this?
To add an interactive element on top of your video at a specific timestamp in Adobe Captivate, you can follow these steps:
- Select “Add media blocks” > “Slide Video” in the left toolbar to add your video to the project.
- Open the timeline panel and drag the play head to the desired timestamp where you want to add the interactive element.
- Hover on the play head and click the “+” icon to add a bookmark at that position.
- Once you’ve created the bookmark, you’ll need to create a quiz slide that will act as the overlay when the viewer reaches the bookmark.
- Select “+ (New slide)” > “Multiple choice” in the left toolbar to create the quiz slide.
- Add the answers to your multiple-choice question.
- Now, return to the timeline and select the bookmark you created earlier.
- In the right toolbar, select “Interactions” > “Add an interaction.”
- Choose “Bookmark” in the Timeline trigger section.
- In the Action panel, select “More” > “Add Overlay.”
- Select the quiz slide you created to be used as the overlay.
- Click “Done” to complete the setup.
Following these steps, you can add an interactive quiz overlay to your video at the specified timestamp, enhancing the learner’s experience in your eLearning project. Let me know if you need further clarification on any of the steps!

Sorry I didn’t rewrite it for the new version yet. Bookmarks are bit quirky in this version, you may find some blog posts about it in my blog.
