Interactions Not Working as Expected
(2)

I have created a sales training module in Adobe Captivate that includes interactive elements such as clickable buttons for navigation and multiple-choice quizzes. However, when previewing the module, the buttons do not respond to clicks, and the quizzes do not record answers or provide feedback. How can I  diagnose and resolve these interaction issues to ensure they function as intended?

Follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem:

  1. Verify Button Actions:
  • Select a button in your Captivate project.
  • Go to the Interactions inspector and check that the “Click/tap action is set to the correct interaction, such as “Go to Next Slide.”
  • If the button is part of a quiz, check that the “Success” and “Last Attempt” actions are configured correctly.
  1. Check Timeline Settings:
  • Open the Timeline panel at the bottom of the screen.
  • Ensure that the button appears on the timeline and is not overlapped or hidden behind other objects.
  • Verify that the button’s display time matches the duration of the slide.
  1. Configure Quiz Settings:
  • Select a quiz question that is not functioning properly.
  • Go to the Quiz Properties panel and ensure that the “Submit” button is set to be visible and clickable.
  • Check the “Reporting” tab to ensure the quiz is set to report scores and the appropriate options are selected.

Which version are you using, please? Since two versions are supported on the same license, it is very important to know that.

I don’t know why a button is not reacting, which action do you trigger by the button? It may be overridden by some other interaction on the slide?

As for the quizzes: did you set up Reporting in the Quiz Preferences? To record answers that is important, and you’ll need to upload to a LMS.
