New Captivate Roadmap

I am a long time Captivate user and am concerned as the new version doesn’t meet my teams’ needs. I understand that Adobe plans to bring over some additional functionality from the old version into the new version, but I haven’t seen a concrete list of features that will and will not be in the new product. Sinse they will only support the old version until 2026, I’m looking into switching to Articulate 360 to maintain the same level of functionality.

Is there a list of features that are guaranteed to be in the new version by 2026?

Hi Jess! Thank you for sharing your concerns. We want to assure you that we will be bringing over all the functionality from Captivate Classic into the new version by end of 2025. We will also be adding new features like web collaboration, Gen-AI, among others.  Please note that we will ensure all our customers will have successfully migrated to the new version before sunsetting the old version of Adobe Captivate.

In the meantime, please let us know what specific features you are missing in the new version, and I’ll try to help you out with the same.

Hi, Shobhana, many thanks for your reply, Im very interested in that topic too. And looking forward to having all those old and new functions available step by step. I am a patient person 😉

What I miss badly is a kind of (private) library in the new version – to store element, parts, … even with an option to parametrize them if needed.

I am an old software developer and have always lived the DRY principle (Don’t Repeat Yourself!). And now, I have redesign and “reprogram” every button, every part… which I want to use in my project on several places time and again.

I’m rather new to Captivate but I think, the old version has such library, doesn’t it?
