I am in the Heathcare Industry; we must be able to document our courses for regulatory, compliance, and credentialing purposes. In Captivate Classic, we were able to ‘print’ handouts to a Word Document which would serve that purpose. Does the New Captivate have the same print features which will print the slide into such a document?
We are in healthcare too. This is an absolute deal breaker for us. Each time a regulatory agency comes, we must have Word generated versions of our content for review. A surveyor is not going into a review link anymore than they would go into our LMS to “see something in action”. We have a ton of Captivate Classic eLearning that we’ve been waiting for Adobe to find us a way to import into the All New version. As a test, I was just recreating one in the All New version. While I dislike intensely having to copy text from a slide in Storyline in the notes to have it print, unless there becomes a solution in the next few months, we are just going to have to ditch Captivate entirely and go with Articulate for everything.
Sorry to disappoint you because the answer is negative. You only have the possibility to export all text fields to Word from the File menu ‘Project content and closed captions’. But that is meant mostly for localisation purpose.
BTW the Print possibilities were bit limited even in previous versions, because they didn’t take into account the possibilities of multistate objects, nor the possible changes with advanced/shared actions. I never used that Print but created a template in InDesign and took manual screenshots of the slides. In my mind it is also bit outdated to provide an ‘old-style’ document as reference, when you can offer a link to the interactive project. But I understand.. rules and regulations ignore mostly innovations for some decades. Did you check out the new Review feature in 12.3? It may be a partial alternative.
