How do I enable backup file generation in the new Adobe Captivate. There is no field in the Edit/Preferences section.

You can find your backup files in the same directory where your `.cptx` project is saved — Captivate automatically appends “_Backup” to the filename. These are created each time you save your project, helping you recover previous versions if needed.

If you’d like to manage or customize this behavior, Adobe currently doesn’t provide a direct toggle in preferences. However, you can manually organize backups by setting up version folders or using version control tools.

For feature suggestions, go to Help → Provide Feedback in Captivate — the Adobe team actively reviews user input for updates.

Hi christopherr32593558 ,

Thank you for your query.

The Backup option is enabled by default, and a backup file is saved in the same location as your Captivate project. We also encourage you to submit your valuable feedback and suggestions directly in Captivate via Help -> Provide Feedback, and the team will consider and work on them accordingly.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions. You may also contact the technical support team directly via phone (+1-800-833-6687) or chat (https://www.adobe.com/getsupport) for immediate assistance.

Here to help,

It’s on by default, and I believe there is no setting to turn this off.
