How do you hide the TOC or lock the TOC during quiz slides?
I am using the latest version of Captivate (not classic). How do you hide the TOC or lock the TOC during quiz slides? I figured out how to lock the TOC on all other slides by assigning the “Project.LockTOC” variable to each slide upon Slide Enter but cannot figure out how to do the same for quiz slides.

Hi Lina,
That’s a common challenge when moving to the new Adobe Captivate interface compared to the Classic workflow.
Since you are using the latest version, the “Project.LockTOC” variable approach you’re using for standard slides is correct, but quiz slides often behave differently because they trigger their own internal settings. Here is how I usually handle this:
-
Slide-Level Override: Quiz slides in the new Captivate often have an “Override” setting in the Slide Properties panel. Check the Slide Properties for your quiz slides specifically—ensure that the Navigation settings are not set to “Default,” which might be re-enabling the TOC.
-
The Variable Hierarchy: If the override doesn’t catch it, ensure your variable Project.LockTOC is being triggered on the first quiz slide and re-applied on the Quiz Result slide. Sometimes, the transition into the Quiz flow resets certain project-level variables.
-
Project Settings Check: Go to your Project Settings -> Table of Contents. Double-check if the “Allow user to expand/collapse” option is conflicting with your variable.
If the issue persists, verify that you aren’t using a custom “Quiz Template” that might have a fixed TOC overlay hardcoded into the master slide for that specific section.
Hope this helps you get that clean look for your quiz!
Hi Lina388146640ge6 ,
Thank you for your query.
Currently this feature is not working with available Project.LockTOC and hide TOC variable and action. I would request you to submit the feedback here (https://captivate.uservoice.com/forums/939318-adobe-captivate )
