Understanding the difference between Static and Interactive Objects is essential for accessibility and user navigation.
In Adobe Captivate, understanding the difference between Static and Interactive Objects is essential for accessibility and user navigation. Here’s a clearer breakdown:
Static Objects
• These include non-interactive elements such as images, text captions, smart shapes (when not used as buttons), and decorative elements.
• They are read sequentially based on their position in the Reading Order list.
• Since they do not require user interaction, they do not receive keyboard focus.
Interactive Objects
• These include elements that users can interact with, such as buttons, click boxes, text entry boxes, drag-and-drop objects, and interactive widgets.
• Their reading order is determined by the Tab Order, which allows users to navigate through them using the keyboard (e.g., the Tab key).
• Even if an interactive object appears lower in the Reading Order list, it will still be read according to the Tab Order you define in the Tab Order panel.
