Aggregator

Sl.No Issue Version
1 Adobe Captivate doesn’t allow you to add SWF files to an aggregator project if the location of the files isn’t a trusted location in Flash Player settings. A message indicating that you are trying to add ‘non-captivate SWF files’ appears even though they were created using Adobe Captivate.

Operating systems on which this issue occurs: Windows 7 and Windows Vista

Solution

Add the location of the SWF files as a ‘trusted location’ in Flash Player settings. For detailed instructions on specifying the trusted locations, see www.adobe.com/go/learn_cp_flashplayersettings_en.

1 When you import an MS PPT 2010 into Adobe Captivate, the narration audio in the PPT isn’t imported. Although the audio is available when a SWF file is generated, it doesn’t appear as slide audio in the Adobe Captivate project. Therefore, you cannot edit the slide audio in Adobe Captivate 5.5
2 You cannot import password-protected MS PPT2007 or MS PPT 2010 projects into Adobe Captivate although you provide valid passwords while importing. An Adobe Presenter error appears even if you have not installed Adobe Presenter. 5.5
3 MS PPT 2010 crashes and Adobe Captivate becomes unresponsive if you try to trim audio or video in the PPT from within Adobe Captivate. (You trim the video in the PPT by right-clicking the PPT-based slide and choosing Edit With PowerPoint > Edit Presentation). 5.5

Performance

Sl.No Issue Version
1 When the available hard disk space is insufficient, Adobe Captivate displays an error message. If you continue to work on your project without freeing disk space, your project could become corrupted. It’s the project is corrupted, it’s likely that you can’t open it 5.5

Recording

Sl.No Issue Version
1 On Windows 7 and Vista, you cannot record applications if they are launched in the ‘admin’ mode while Adobe Captivate is launched in the ‘non-admin’ mode.

Operating systems on which this issue occurs: Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

Solution

Launch Adobe Captivate in the ‘admin’ mode and try recording the application again.

Note: You can also relaunch the application in the ‘non-admin’ mode and try recording again.

To launch Adobe Captivate in the ‘admin’ mode on Windows 7 or Vista, perform the following steps:

  1. Right-click the Adobe Captivate shortcut icon and click Advanced.
  2. Select Run As Administrator and click Ok.

Now, Adobe Captivate launches in the ‘admin’ mode when you use the shortcut icon that you configured.
