Captivate 3 doesn’t preview inserted animations, FLV’s if the user system has Flash player 10. This is a bug in Cp3 and this bug doesn’t affect preview in browser or published SWF. The preview code of cp3 looks for installed flash version and if it doesn’t find anything between Fp 6 to Fp9 it publishes the preview in Fp6 and hence animations which are greater than 6 and FLV don’t show up in preview. For preview in browser and publish we use the installed Flash player version to publish.
This issue is addressed in Captivate 4 and the workaround for cp3 users is to go back to version 9 if they can’t live with this bug.
I am new to Captivate 3. I have a simple quiz of yes or no questions. I am trying to branch down two paths depending on how question one is answered. Correct answers seem to branch fine. Incorrect answers do not branch but just fall to the next slide. What am I doing wrong?
Shivani, unfortunately there is no trial version of Cp3 available anymore (neither can you purchase a Cp3 version from Adobe). Can you elaborate on the issues you face when using Cp4 with Articulate? Also, we have a couple of posts on how articulate content can be migrated to Adobe eLearning Suite (let me know if this is useful):https://elearning.adobe.com/2009/04/shifting_to_adobe_elearning_su.htmlhttps://elearning.adobe.com/2009/05/shifting_to_adobe_elearning_su_2.htmlShameer,PM- Adobe Captivate | eLearning Suite
Hi,We are looking at purchasing captivate for our elearning needs. We use Articulate and I wanted to trial both captivate 3 and 4 to see which works better with Articualte. I’ve trialled Cap v4 and it has a lot of issues unfortunately. Now I am trying to get a trial version of captivate 3 but I can’t find it anywhere? Please help
Is there any chance that this bug will be patched for CP3? I work for a training department in a large organization; we run 20+ copies of CP3. If our company upgrades to FP 10 my department will lose dozens of hours per month in productivity. We are not considering and upgrade to CP4 right now, and we certainly do not want to be forced to upgrade because the company goes to FP 10.
Thank you. I have removed Flash 10 and installed 9. I still can’t see the flash player in my presentation either in preview or once published. I’m using the flash video streaming service option, and the path has the .flv at the end. I think I may be doing something wrong but I don’t know what. Anybody have some insight for me? Thanks!
