RJ has a great video out this week that demonstrates how to import Adobe Illustrator files into Adobe Captivate using the Import PSD Function in Adobe Captivate 5.

While Adobe Illustrator is not part of the Adobe eLearning Suite, if you have Adobe Illustrator on the same machine as your copy of Adobe Captivate 5, you will be able to take advantage of both to import your Adobe Illustrator files.

In the video, RJ demonstrates how you can take vector images from your Adobe Illustrator file directly into Adobe Photoshop using Copy/Paste. The paste operation allows you to paste the objects as a smart object in Photoshop.

Once you’ve moved the element into PS, the import into Adobe Captivate is identical to a standard import of a Photoshop Document.

You can watch the video on our AdobeELearning YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/AdobeELearning?feature=mhum#p/f/6/jtK9Mgmqnuk

Don’t forget to subscribe while you are there. 😉

Hi, I am a user of Adobe eLearning Suite 2 and I would like to ask, why is not eLS2 program Adobe Illustrator CS5. Often it is really difficult to work with vector graphics and create for the e-learning projects in Captivate 5 some illustrations, icons and other elements using “alternate” solutions – Photoshop CS5. This is a great tutorial (as well as a blog Captivate), video just does not address ,,, where ” I can to create vector graphic, if Illustrator is not a part of eLS2. The same is true as well for working with Adobe Flash CS5, which although in eLES2 is, but also lacks the flash and the ability to create vector graphics in Illustrator and import it into Flash.

This issue deals with many developers and I believe that eLearning Suite product managers listen to us and eLearning Suite 3 will also have Illustator program (which I use very happy) with the support of the same import, as is the case with Photoshop CS5 files.

Thank you very much for any response.
