Adobe Presenter EULA issues
(20)

New installations of Adobe Presenter on certain systems have been unusable as users have been unable to accept the End User License Agreement (EULA) which is launched at the first use of Presenter from inside MS PowerPoint, but flashes and closes automatically before it can be accepted.  The issue has been identified to be an incompatibility of the EULA with IE9. A resolution for this issue is provided in an upcoming patch.

As a workaround, you can use either of these options:

Option 1.

Uninstall IE9, accept the EULA and then reinstall IE9 if required

Option 2.

  1. Go to your Adobe Presenter install directory and navigate to: adobe_epiceula; For ex. > C:Program FilesAdobePresenter 7adobe_epiceula
  2. Create a folder with name ‘undefined’ ; C:Program FilesAdobePresenter 7adobe_epiceulaundefined;
  3. Now go to the folder C:Program FilesAdobePresenter 7adobe_epiceulaen_us and copy the html files
  4. Paste the files to the new folder (C:Program FilesAdobePresenter 7adobe_epiceulaundefined) created in ‘2’ above
  5. Relaunch PowerPoint and access Presenter. You should now be able to view and accept (or reject) the EULA.

Option 3.

  1. go to your Presenter installation folder, eg. C:Program FilesAdobePresenter 7adobe_epic
  2. Rename the folder titled ‘eula’ to ‘backup-eula’
  3. Download the EULA.zip from EULA (or copy-paste this link into your browser —  https://elearning.adobe.com/files/2011/06/eula1.zip)
  4. Unzip the downloaded zip file to any folder
  5. Go inside the unzipped folder and copy the folder titled ‘eula’
  6. Paste it to C:Program FilesAdobePresenter 7adobe_epic
  7. Relaunch PowerPoint and access Presenter. You should now be able to view and accept (or reject) the EULA.

Why not just supply users, like myself, who purchased the Acrobat Extended Pro bundle a working serial. Forcing paying customers to jump through hoops is pure crap.

Michael, Acrobat Extended Pro is a separate product from Presenter, and Presenter 7.0.7 was not designed as a free upgrade for Acrobat Extended Pro users (while I do know that there is a workaround being offered to activate Presenter in such a scenario).

hi all – please note that the workaround posted in this post is NOT required for installing Adobe Presenter 7.0.7; Presenter 7.0.7 will install fine on systems with IE9. This work around is required for prior versions, viz. 7.0.6 or below only.

I have presenter 7.0.6 and have had very few problems (?). However when I updated to presenter 7.0.7 (uninstalling the 7.06 version and installing the new7.07 version) I’ve been unable to make to program to work. I build the presentation and when I publish it just doesn’t work. I’ve tried everything but just doesn’t work. Now adobe try to blame other programs asking us to uninstall powerpoint, uinstall IE, uninstall this and that… in order to try to make their presenter 7.07 program work… Why don’t they fix their program before given it away?

Unbelievable! The ‘new’ version of presenter (7.07) has a lot more problems than the earlier version. They ‘fixed’ some problems from the older version and gave us more problems…
What’s the point in exchanging some few ‘bugs’ from an earlier version of the product and give you many more ‘bugs’ in a ‘new’ version of the same product…..
They at the end just swap some old issues to some new issues…

DJAY, could you elaborate on the issues you are facing? This blog post is related to the old version of Presenter. These workarounds are not required with the latest version of Presenter (Presenter 7.0.7- which is a free update for existing Presenter 7 users). Please confirm that you have the latest version.

All this is crap!
I’m running Win7 Home Premium SP1 with Office 2007 Pro (with IE8 – which really sucks)
At this point every single thing I’ve tried (including ALL 3 above, do not work).
I did all the updates to Presenter (including 7.0.7) with no change.
I’ve found about 30 different fixes on the internet and tried them all (none work).

Adobe, just fix your product and get this crap over with.

Lucky I decided to trial this junk. It makes it SO MUCH easier to delete it and work with a product that the manufacturer properly supports.

Could you provide more detail on the issues you are facing with Presenter 7.0.7? Could you also confirm that you are using 32 bit Office; if so, can we get on a call to investigate this further? Mail me at shameer at adobe dot com.

hi Dhall,

could you elaborate on what issue you observe after uninstalling Presenter 7.0.6 and installing Presenter 7.0.7? The steps indicated in this blog are not required with Presenter 7.0.7; however, if your issue is the inability to accept the EULA even with 7.0.7, we may need to get into a conference call to isolate further. Let Shameer and/or me (ntewary at adobe dot com) know a convenient time slot for this.
thanks

FYI, this only work if you do it in following procedure.

1. Uninstall Presenter 7.0
2. Re-install Presneter 7.0
3. Remove the EULA folder, I would keep it as back on Desktop
4. Copy the EULA embedded in zip and paste it C:Program FilesAdobePresenter 7adobe_epic
folder.

Open PowerPoint you should have the EULA agreement, click Accept, it will ask for registration, which is your choice.

@Dordogno, I understand it was difficult to locate the zip file on the blog post. This has been fixed. If this has not resolved the problem, we’d like to get on a Connect session and investigate further. Please write to us at wish-captivate at macromedia dot com
