Since last few days, Adobe Presenter 8 users are getting a McAfee ‘Generic Downloader Trojan’ virus alert for one of the Presenter installer files.
We reached out to McAfee regarding this issue and they have agreed that this is a false positive. McAfee will be excluding this virus alert for Presenter 8 installer file in their next update which is expected in a day or two.
Meanwhile, if you would like to use Adobe Presenter 8 uninterruptedly, please disable the McAfee virus scan before using Adobe Presenter 8.
If you have any further questions regarding this issue. Please leave a comment here and we’ll get back to you.
Update: This issue has been resolved by McAfee. If you were affected by this issue in the last few days, ensure that you have the latest version of McAfee and then uninstall and reinstall Adobe Presenter.
I was using 7.0.6 (french) because 7.0.7 would not publish correctly my SWF animations.
When I open a presenterized document lately I got the error message and tried to reinstall Presenter .
Now To install 7.0.6 , you must install 7.0.0 and all the successive patches.
I only found an English version of 7.0.0and I miss patches 3 and 4 so I can no longer get to 7.0.6 and edit my files containing SWFs.
Will Adobe republish all files needed to reinstall 7.0.6 or is the SWF issue solved in 8.0.0 ?
I have Adobe Presenter 7 and McAfee has removed an adobe presenter file so that Presenter no longer works. McAfee came up with a virus warning and removed a file in the Presenter folder (don’t know which). When trying to record in Presenter now an error message saying “Presenter has encountered an unexpected error while working with this presentation. Try saving and restarting….” This does not work. I have tried repairing and reinstalling Presenter 7. Still does not work.
