You are no longer forced to use the 32-bit version of MS Office, just because you want to create PowerPoint based eLearning. The new 64-bit Presenter 8 now works with your 64-bit MS PowerPoint.

How do you find out if you have 32-bit or 64-bit of MS-Office? It’s very simple, open MS PowerPoint and go to File> ‘About Microsoft PowerPoint’> … it would show you if it is 32-bit or 64-bit.

Do remember, there are separate installers for 32-bit and 64-bit version of Adobe Presenter. So, when you are downloading the installer, make sure you select the correct one.

Adobe Presenter 8.0.1 Update with Bug Fixes… Have you updated it?

The new Adobe Presenter 8.0.1 update contains key enhancements to Adobe Presenter Video Creator, and several bug fixes. If you have Adobe Presenter 8 installed, and don’t see an update option in the Help Menu, just click on any menu button (ex. ‘Create Package’) in the Presenter ribbon. This initializes Adobe Presenter. You should now be able to see the Updates option in the Presenter Help menu. Dr. Pooja Jaisingh has detailed the Presenter video creator enhancements in this blog post. The key bug fixes provided in this update are below:

Bug fix 1: If an AICC compliant course is uploaded in a cross-domain scenario, reporting was not functioning correctly. For example, if there is an AICC course in a public server, modify the .au file to point to the IndexAPI.html in the public server, and upload these files to SABA, in this scenario reporting was not working in some cases. This issue is fixed.

Bug fix 2: In some cases, moving Presenter 7.0.7 created projects with MP4 videos to a different machine throws an error stating that the MP4 file is missing. This happens while doing a ‘Save as’ to a different location or with a different name. This issue is fixed. BTW, this happens with MP4 only, if you have FLVs… don’t worry 🙂

Bug fix 3: In very specific scenarios, the text font color changed from white to black in the published output. This issue is fixed.

Bug fix 4: In some scenarios, it was observed that text inside a shape, and in some cases the shapes also didn’t render properly in published output. This issue is fixed.

Bug fix 5: If there were group of images, and they were animated, the animations were not detected during sync. The animation count wasdisplayed as 0 instead of 1. This issue is fixed.

Bug fix 6: In some cases, there were exceptions shown while resuming a course on LMS. This happened in specific scenarios in combination with Question Slides.

Do try out the update, and share your feedback in our comments section.
