I’ve spent much of the past week preparing for Adobe Learning Summit in Las Vegas at the end of this month. This is the premiere event for fans of Adobe Presenter, Adobe Captivate and Adobe Connect. The annual event has become a welcome tradition, featuring more than twenty phenomenal sessions on mobile learning, data/LMS integration, Captivate, Presenter & Connect tutorials and tips. You can learn about the latest in Video, Rapid eLearning, Advanced Actions and more.

The most exciting thing for me is that Adobe has assembled experts from around the globe. Just take a look at who’s presenting to get a sense of the sensational lineup.

Starting the day is Newsweek Technology Columnist Dan Lyons. Dan is at the front wave of the social media and mobile revolution and his keynote is sure to start us off with a bang.

Sara Gilbert, Akshay Bharadwaj, Josh Cavalier, Dustin Tauer & Randah McKinnie will carry the HTML5 & Mobile message forward in a series of workshops and presentations designed to help you learn everything there is to know about moving your eLearning solutions to the mobile platforms available today. Whether you’re publishing HTML5 Apps for iPad Browsers, wrestling with SCORM reporting for your LMS, building apps for mobile devices or working with the best virtual classrooms available for mobile and desktop platforms, this team of extraordinary authorities will show you everything you need to know to become the mobility rock star your company needs.

If you’re more into video than mobile solutions, do not fear. Adobe’s own YouTube star, Kush Amerasinghe will kick off the day’s video-centric sessions with a lesson on best practices in creating video capture walkthroughs and tutorials. Shameer Ayyappan, Joe Caplan, Vishwanath (Vish) Shivishwamy, John Daigle & Michael Palmer round out the day with sessions on everything from Application Simulation to Studios, Streaming and Pseudo-Synch.

Anita Horsely & Jeff Harris set the stage for a dazzling array of sessions on rapid eLearning assets with a workshop on Rich Media Content. They are joined by asset experts Dan Longhouse, Bryan Jones, Andrew Scivally, & Jacquie Beck who will discuss and describe ways to work with and create top quality assets for your eLearning projects.

If Data Analytics and Testing Measures are more your thing you won’t want to miss the sessions on measurement. Kevin Siegel leads the day with a session on LMS data tracking, joined by myself & Steve Howard doing a session on using the new Multi-sco packager. The extraordinary Mike Rustici of Scorm.com & Tin Can fame, will join forces with Adobe’s own Akshay Bharadwaj to discuss LMS integration with SCORM. Finally Alistaire Lee will top the day off with a discussion of classroom analytics in the new Adobe Connect.

If you’re an experienced eLearning developer you might be particularly excited about the advanced sessions. Joe Ganci will kick off these sessions with a lesson on Advanced Actions. Rod & Tristan Ward (of the Infosemantics Drag & Drop Widget fame) will share their thoughts on extending Captivate, I’ll join Kirsten Rourke on an awesome speed session exposing workflows of the eLearning Suite as we step through the project development cycle, and Peter Ryce, Matt Murdoch & Treion Muller will help you ‘Walk out of the Room a Better Online Trainer.’

Finally we’ll close the learning sessions with the traditional sneak peeks and Ask the Experts session. A conference favorite for attendees and panelists alike this full conference meeting gives Adobe a chance to share with everyone a little news about the amazing new features in development that might one day end up in our eLearning products. It also gives attendees a chance to ask the tough questions to the people who manage and develop Adobe Presenter, Adobe Captivate, Adobe eLearning Suite and Adobe Connect. This year’s panelists include Tridib Chowdhury, Shameer Ayyappan, Justin Mass, Allen Partridge & Akshay Bharadwaj.

We’ll conclude the festivities with a really cool cocktail reception where everyone can meet, greet, mingle and share the stories. I’m thrilled to say that I’ve once again been asked to emcee and host the event and I’m really looking forward to seeing so many old friends and to meeting so many new ones this year in Las Vegas.

I want to take this chance to personally invite you to join me at the Aria in Las Vegas on the 29th of October, 2012 for the fifth annual Adobe Learning Summit. You can register for the conference here: http://www.elearningguild.com/DevLearn/content/2269/.
