Presenter_8_mnemonic_CMYK_no_shadowThe Adobe eLearning team is thrilled today to announce the immediate availability of a very special release of Adobe Presenter 8. This release will grant early access to fantastic new features and is available only to customers on Adobe Software Assurance plans for Adobe Presenter & eLearning Suite (as well as those customers on maintenance agreements and eLearning Suite 6 / 6.1 Subscriptions.)

For customers not on these subscription plans these features are expected to also appear in the next full release of Presenter.

Let’s have a look at the exciting new features.

New audio workflow
The new audio interface is slim and sweet! You’ll love the simplicity.
With just a couple buttons it’s an incredibly intuitive audio interface. Now you can record and sync audio with your PowerPoint slides effortlessly. Just click the simple central button to switch slides, trigger animations etc.

Here’s a video that demonstrates this hot new feature:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5WqOV384bA&list=UULpsk3UF7lh5l9fVkLIqu6g&index=2

Enhanced Adobe Presenter 8 mobile app
If you haven’t checked it out yet, it’s worth a look. Your learners just download one simple App (Presenter Mobile) from the App store and voila – they can playback the courses you publish normally. That’s right, it’s the same file as you play online in Flash, only it plays on their iOS device.

In this release we’ve imporved the native capabilities of Presenter Mobile for your iOS devices. It’s easier than ever to provide learners on-the-go access to engaging quizzes from their mobile iOS* devices. With the new features in this release you’ll also be able to track quizzes on Adobe Connect™ in addition to any standard AICC-compliant LMS. You can leverage the integration with Adobe Connect to access your Adobe Presenter course in Adobe Connect Mobile through single-sign on and auto-redirection.

Automatic closed captioning
I love, love, love this feature! Here’s a video of the feature to give you a good sense of how it works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eV1JYtUCak&list=UULpsk3UF7lh5l9fVkLIqu6g&index=1
You can now automatically generate closed captioning for your audio track with the new speech-to-text conversion feature in Adobe Presenter Video Creator. This thing uses cloud based computing to translate your speech into closed captions at crazy fast speeds. You can even keep working – editing your project as usual, while it does the closed captions for you. And no worries if it makes a mistake, you can just type the captions in this amazing contextual editor to get them exactly the way you like.

You’ll also be able to achieve 508 standards compliance and expand your outreach with significantly enhanced accessibility support. Easily create courses that meet accessibility norms for defense, government, and educational organizations.

Microsoft Office 2013 support
This one is bound to be a crowd favorite. This update adds support for conversion of Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 slides, including objects, animations, and multimedia, into rich, interactive video presentations using an improved conversion library.

Unlike others, Presenter & Captivate actually convert modern PowerPoint formats – they don’t just flatten them down or turn the clock back to 2003. As a result you get genuine support for SmartArt and Animations.

Windows® 8 compatibility
Every day I hear more and more people telling me they are moving to Windows 8. This release provides platform support for users who’ve made the switch. Of course it still works on earlier versions of Windows too.

Enhanced interactions library
Everyone loves the new Smart Learning Interactions. The fun continues in this update as now you can create engaging courses even easier with a large library of professionally designed interactions, including Hangman and Jigsaw, which you can customize to suit your needs.

I’m thrilled with the many new features and I bet you will be too. Best of all, this update is free for customers with Adobe Presenter ASA agreements and to those with similar subscription and maintenance plans.

As always don’t hesitate to share your thoughts and feedback in the comments section below. And if you don’t have early access, no worries. You can expect to find these features and more in the next major upgrade of Presenter.

Hi so sorry to post here – I’ve been trying to find email contact. About a year ago I hired a developer to build an e-learning/e-commerce website. At the time I was using Adobe Presenter 7 and had been told by my developer to subscribe to Adobe Connect, which I did. From what I understand the developer built the site using a Joomla/Moodle system. Some way into the project and much money later I received this explantion from him below. I’m desperately trying to get to the bottom of this. Are you able to explain…many thanks. I can be reached at
mwdlondon@hotmail.com

“”Adobe have been changing the goalposts a lot recently with their
packages, the software and now the pricing. We have been constantly rebuilding
the cardio rhythms site each time they make a change and have been trying to
stay one step ahead of them but now it looks like they are updating the connect
software to market the product at the upper end of the e-learning scales. We
are now waiting for them to release the new software and price structure but we
have already heard whispers that the new pricing may be up to $20,000 for the
same software that was available for under $100.”

Great news -:). I am user of e-licensed product eLS6, so I can only reading articles or watching videos about new features for subsribers and ASA. The same ,,perspective” about Captivate 6 vs. 6.1. Thank you for this unfair ,,playgame” because there is no way to convert e-licensed product eLS6 to subscibed product eLS6 – but FREE CONVERT, because I paid my money for version eLS 6 in summer 2012, And I hope, Adobe understand, that I am not crazy to pay for version 6 second time.

First I was very frustrated, now I am only apathic. Best regards.

Good to let us know, Allen. I thought about buying Presenter 8. But as a user of Windows 8 and Office 2013 I’m not interested in waiting till the next major upgrade to get support for this.
I think support for an OS (Windows 8 came out in October!!!) and for the actual Office Version shouldn’t be something for only subscribers or ASA customers 🙁
Special features like interactions and so on is ok, but not essentials.
