Yes, CP8 brings a lot of news, but also a lot of bugs. I’ve been struggling a lot with CP8.

1. I’m trying to create custom play/pause toggle button and I can’t assign it in the master slide nor can I do it on the first slide and extend the timing on the whole project. It only works on the first slide.

2. Tried with click box and that didn’t work neither on the master slide.

3. Placeholder for images is catastrophic. I want to be able to adjust the image within the placeholder, not starting to cropping and trying to adjust the image.

4. Web font possibility is not available.

5. Place the player in center both horizontal and vertical is not possible.

6. Have attachments is basic nowadays. Take a look at Articulate

7. Embedded YouTube clips don’t work from when previewing.

8. No updates since 13 October 2014….??

Hi Yassin,

Sorry to see you face these issues with Captivate. Here are some suggestions to help you:
1 & 2: Instead of using buttons and click boxes, use Shape as a button. It will help you make it appear for the rest of the project and even let you place it on the master slide.
3. Can you please share more details about the issues you are facing and we’ll try to see if we can change the behavior or the placeholder object. Please write to us at CaptivateHelp at adobe dot com
4. Yes, unfortunately, you can’t use web fonts in Captivate 8.
5. We’ve not heard any use cases for this one. Can you please share them with us and we can consider making this option available in the future updates/versions.
6. Try using the Open File action to make an attachment available. Let us know if that doesn’t help.
7. You will need to preview the project in a browser. Try previewing it using F11 or F12 keys. Let us know if it still doesn’t work.
