Rollover Captions, Images and Slidelets
December 20, 2016
I’ve been an eLearning designer and developer since 2005, specializing in the creation of interactive and engaging learning experiences. In 2015, I launched my own eLearning design business and began producing Adobe Captivate video tutorials on my YouTube channel, CaptivateTeacher, to support clients and fellow developers. This content not only helped me grow my business globally—it also introduced me to a wider community of aspiring Captivate users who now turn to me for training and mentorship. Today, I provide both online and onsite Adobe Captivate training, empowering others to build effective eLearning with confidence. I’m proud to be part of the Adobe eLearning Community, sharing knowledge, collaborating with other developers, and contributing to the growth of this platform.

Paul,

I hope this is a good place for this comment. I’m new to Captivate 2017 and I just captured a software simulation (training). All of the hints are rollovers. Is that the way it is supposed to be? I don’t think this has happened to me before. Can I make is so that the hint stays on the screen all the time and not only when you rollover the click box.

The hint is designed to let users know that their mouse is over the right spot. If you made it last forever it wouldn’t convey the correct information to the user. You can use an incorrect or try again caption to stay up. Select these captions and go to your Timing panel to extend how long it will appear.

Hi Paul,
I’m designing a Blank Project and am following along with your instructions but my three options are still unavailable…do you know what I may be doing wrong?

I just tried these procedures in Adobe Captivate 9.0.2.437 (The most current version at the time I’m writing this). Everything is available from the Objects Drop Down icon when I have a Blank Project as my project type. The only way these items do not appear is if the project type is responsive.
