Hello, all.  From what I’ve read of the recent comments, many have already touched on the overviews of most of the new features and enhancements that the 2017 version offers.

So, in this piece, I’d like to comment on the Fluid Boxes in particular.  I attended the Adobe Learning Summit in late 2016, and these were part of the Sneaks portion of the summit.  When I first saw them, they blew my mind (in part because of the hiking themed example they provided…I’m an avid hiker myself!).

Now, having worked with them first hand, my mind is still equally blown.  Allow me to elaborate a bit on that.

The company I work for has recently begun to tip the scales in the direction of microlearning, so we’ve seen improvements there, in getting our staff efficiently trained while adding more productivity time to our pockets.  However, as our company continues to expand across the nation, we find ourselves a bit behind the 8-ball with regards to offering the same learning experience for all employees (on-site, remote, etc.).

I strongly believe that the fluid boxes are the catalyst that will allow us to push forward with a more mobile-friendly development process.  Not that we couldn’t or didn’t without the use of fluid boxes, but the development process while attempting to do so, was notably lengthier.

With Captivate 2017’s Fluid Boxes, gone are the days of publishing multiple times to test a project on a variety of devices.  Well done, Adobe!
