I am not able to see the Captivate window on my MacBook Pro (Early 2013) when running Adobe Captivate 2017 (running MacOS 10.13.4 High Sierra).  I can see the opening screen to choose recent project or new project and the progress bar comes up on the upper left of the screen.  When Captivate fully opens, cannot see the window or project, but can see the menu bar.  Oddly enough, when I open Captivate 9, I do not have this problem.

This problem is not occurring on my iMac running the same MacOS.  I have even completed the updates for Captivate 2017 for both computers and no changes.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Ashish,
I did have a second screen, but it was the second screen that was the problem. I ended up running the CleanPreferencesMac as noted above and it worked well.

Thanks, for the update Randall. Sure, that should have been my next step for resolution 🙂

Hi Ashish. I did try it on two separate monitors and it did not work. However, I came across the following in a forum regarding Captivate 8:

“Did you ever use an external monitor? Can you try to clean the Preferences, there is a file in the subfolder Utils of the installation folder of Captivate that can be run (there is one for Mac, I’m on Win).”

I went into Captivate 2017 > Utils and double-clicked CleanPreferencesMac. It worked like a charm. I now see the workspace in full screen and verified a second time with one of my own projects.
Thanks for checking in.

Randall, Do you project your MacBook Pro computer on another monitor? Sometime Captivate may remember the projection setting and could be causing the issue. Let me know if that is not the case.

Ashish
