Change simulation demo to training?

I’ve recorded three simulations in demo mode; now the client wants them in training mode. Can I change them or must I re-record them?

I’m using Captivate 2017; this course is a non-responsive one, and it is not intended for mobile devices.

I have software to train on only accessible through a gov laptop, which doesn’t have Cp on it. So I take screen shots with Snagit and send them to my other laptop with Cp on it and create elearning there.

Yes. Lesson Learned again. Thinking about the effort required….Total steps in 3 simulations = 100 slides to revise. 🙁

We all learn from past workflows that didn’t give the proper result. Hope you can fix it.

OK. I’ll give it a try. And I agree the best solution is ALWAYS to record all three modes. Don’t know why I thought this would work. Lesson Learned.

All depends on the length and type of the demo. It is indeed possible, but you’ll have to add one interactive object on each slide. For a ‘click’ action that will be a click box, eventually accompanied by a highlight box. You define the number of attempts and the Success action is automatically set to Go to Next Slide which is fine. The default Training sim has infinite attempts for click boxes, but I find that very frustrating, and always limit it to 2-3 attempts, where I set the Last Attempt also to ‘Go to Next Slide’.
For a typing action it is bit more complicated: you have to delete the typing object from the slide, replace it by a TEB, and set the Properties for the TEB. More work, but if the number of slides where the learner has to enter text is limited, probably less work than recording.
Just a tip: I ALWAYS record a software simulation immediately in the 3 modes. Much easier to delete a file, than to do the editing I just described.
