So I’m not exactly NEW to Captivate; I used Captivate 6/7 for some projects in graduate school and on my first (part-time) job as an instructional designer after graduation, but haven’t really had an opportunity to work with it since then. I’m hoping to get back in the saddle and re-learn the latest version, however. I’m currently the Digital Learning Specialist in the Center for Teaching Excellence at a small college in Lawrenceville, GA, where I work as a faculty developer, creating and facilitating workshops on using technology to enhance education. When I first started, the workshops were traditional face-to-face PowerPoint presentations, simply because that’s the way that they had always been done. Over the last year, though, I’ve moved most of my workshops online, so I think there’s an opportunity to use Captivate to go beyond simple text / links / YouTube videos and create a little more interactivity.
I was excited to discover this community, and I hope to learn a lot from all of you. I plan to blog semi-regularly about the results of my experiments here (both successes and failures) and to pester you all with lots of questions.
Welcome! And fire away your questions, we will try to answer all of them. Your college is lucky to have you (although some colleagues may disagree), time to get away from those borig powerpoints. Have known that same transition when I was responsible for a department in a university college. Well….. i more like pushed my colleagues
