Captivate 2019 – Interactive Video
I've been an eLearning designer and developer since 2005. In 2015 I started my own eLearning design company. I began creating Adobe Captivate video tutorials to help promote my business through my YouTube channel at https://youtube.com/captivateteacher. My intention with my YouTube videos was to attract attention from organizations looking for a skilled Captivate developer. This strategy proved successful as I've worked with clients worldwide, helping them build highly engaging eLearning solutions. In addition, my YouTube channel presented another benefit of attracting aspiring Captivate developers to seek me out as a teacher. I now offer online and onsite training on Adobe Captivate, teaching users the skills to build engaging and interactive learning.

Paul, it is possible to add a scrub bar to the bottom of the video?

Because slide video (interactive video) is synchronous with the project you can display the standard player and have it work for the video as well as the project but there is no player included with this type of video. You could use event video which has its own playbar functionality included, however because event video is asynchronous with your course you cannot synchronize other objects to the video playback.

Hey Paul, I love your tutorials they are super helpful.  I use interactive videos a lot in my projects but am experiencing 30% of them cutting off before the end.  The are find in the HTML preview and the screen is timed correctly, however when the project is SCORM’d and loaded onto a LMS they cut short.

Can you help?  Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you

Carol Robb

Thanks for watching Andrew. If your video content is coming from YouTube or Vimeo, you might need to account for bandwidth issues. I like to extend the end of my slide a few seconds to account for those cut0ffs. If that doesn’t help, try reaching out to Adobe for further troubleshooting. It’s important we let Adobe know when their products are not behaving as expected so they can improve them. Send the support team an email at captivatehelp@adobe.com.

Your videos are amazing! I am a bachelor graduate with a degree in Writing for Entertainment and have continued my education by shooting for a masters in Organizational Behavior, constituting the need to learn instructional videos. While I have purchased an annual membership of Adobe Captivate, I used to have the advantage of Lynda.com videos for instruction, but now that is no longer available for graduates.

What do you think is the best and most affordable asset in learning the Captivate program in a relatively short period of time? I was offered a seminar for $400 in Las Vegas, but that price is too steep — especially when I could barely afford the program. Any suggestions?

Your input is appreciated,

MJ Brewer
