I can successfully embed a YouTube video into my Adobe Captivate 2019 file using the interactive video method. However, when I go to publish it, I receive this error: Unsupported items: YouTube Videos. How do I resolve this issue?
Not encountered this issue. Perhaps there is something with your server or LMS that prevents YouTube videos from being embedded. You may wish to check with Adobe. Use the email CaptivateHelp@Adobe.com to reach out them.
YouTube slide videos are only compatible with HTML5 publishing. If you also have SWF selected that is why you’re getting the message.
Thank you, Paul. I did finally get it all figured out. The struggle was real yesterday. I appreciate your response.
Thank you Paul for the clear explanation and taking us over the steps required to embed video into a captivate file.
In Captivate 2019, can we make an interactive video from any CDN other than Youtube? For example, from Vimeo or Amazon S3? Or is it Youtube or nothing?
Hi Paul.
If i create a interactive video with book mark and Knowledge check and publish as video (mp4 format). When i upload that mp4 video in youtube. Will i have the interactivity response in youtube. Will it work???
I don’t think so… It won’t once you upload to youtube.
No you would need to publish it as HTML5 to have the interactive elements work.
I was wondering the exact same thing…why is it only youtube?
You’d have to ask Adobe.
I found a work-around, you have to insert a web object from the object dropdown, then under properties and style youll see when you can choose a radial button for either Address or Embed Code, you want embed code, then I pasted in the vimeo embed codelet and checked the auto load box. I’ve also attached the captivate file I used in case anyone else needs a shortcut.

There is an update coming within the month of May that will give you the ability to use Vimeo.
