Congratulations to the Adobe Captivate Team! Captivate 2019 is a GAME CHANGER in so many respects.

As an eLearning Development professional who has been working in the field for over 35 years, and has been working with and teaching Captivate since the Robo Demo days, I can not recall the last time a new version had such a wide range of new features.

I am most impressed by the new Interactive Video functionality. The availability of having a method to add meaningful interactions into an existing linear video offers a new level of re-usability. Properly designed, this poses a great challenge that can leverage existing media assets into presentation, verification, and remediation of the previous linear content.

Well done

A shame that it is only YouTube and in-project videos that will work. I still need a secure place (CDN). Videos inside a SCORM-file, run on a LMS, are often to heavy to run – with lags an buffering.

Actually – Prime uses a CDN (Akamai) for all content streaming, and the streaming video service uses the same. I’d have to verify with engineering, but I believe they have also done work to make videos within Captivate projects leverage both the Prime streaming service and of course the CDN is used regardless. So it gets handled on the deployment side. I’ll check with engineering for you to confirm.

Thanks Kevin for the testimonial! It was great to have you on Captivate pre-release program.

I agree KB. Love the bookmarks and potential for remediation and logic with such a simple mechanism for creating the navigation. If you haven’t tried it yet, try creating an overlay background for your popup layer that has irregular design – I love that we aren’t constrained to a basic box, but can make it look however we want.
