I am starting to use the new 2019 Captivate and doing a project from powerpoint 2016. Fist I got the message “file may be damaged” Restarted computer and tried again. Says importing PowerPoint Project: parsing Powerpoint project 0%. 30 min later unchanged.Program quit a couple of times and report sent to APPLE.  I am using the iMac with the latest version with 32 G ram and i7 processor. Powerpoint conversions I did with earlier version of Captivate was not a problem except to alter some items in the Imanifest text file for the LMS I use. The Powerpoint file was a PPTX and converted by Captivate to PPT.

I am open for suggestions.

Hi,

Can you please launch Captivate and go to the Help menu -> About Adobe Captivate and confirm the point version? May I know the PowerPoint version you are using? Also confirm if the PPT with which you are facing the issue is saved on the local drive Or on network/shared drive?

You may try to copy all the slides and paste it in a new Presentation and then try to create a project from a newly created presentation and see if that makes any difference.

Regards,

Ajit

Captivate 2019 was working fine yesterday importing PP’T files. Today not so much. The program hangs up, and I have to use the task manager to close it. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled. The PPT parsing issue is real, and I’m on a deadline!

Captivate 2019 was fine yesterday with PPT files but will not open/parse the same ppt files today that I did yesterday. The program just hangs up and I have to go into task manager to close it. Only thing I did at some point yesterday evening was download the latest update.
