I did read this answer by a user on the forum, weeks ago. Why not mention that user?
Lieve,
I don’t recall the forum post you are referring to but perhaps it’s related to the email I received on October 25th from a potential client. Not that I need to justify anything I do to you but here are the details. This potential client had a set of requirements for an Adobe Captivate theme and project file that they wanted me to build. Among those requirements were the following.
automatically adjusting the size of each placeholder for the answers in multiple-choice questions
have imported advanced answer feedback sized and located as per the master slide
have the submit button removed so feedback would be immediate upon clicking any answer
have only one feedback caption that would dynamically update its text depending on the selection of the user.
After some thought and experimentation, I replied to the potential client with some possible solutions to some of their problems including the following…
“Most of these require some type of manual intervention as you may already be suspecting. I did come up with a solution to partially automate the importing of double or even triple line text and having it display correctly. It’s not completely automated but takes minutes instead of hours. This involves creating a temporary theme with double or triple sized font size applied to the object style associated with the answer text. This would also mean some changes to the master slide for multiple choice questions where the temporary and final answer would have to be top aligned. You would import the GIFT file into the project file. Once all the questions are input into your project you would select the final version of the theme. The placeholders for the answer text remain.”
I declined to take any payment for this project because I was unable to provide a complete solution to their challenges. I decided to create a video regarding this one solution to share with them, as well as anyone else who would be interested.
