Why is ‘continue’ being added to my advanced action?
I am using advanced actions to perform a simple function (i.e., pause/play, audio/mute), and changing the states. I have found that sometimes when selecting the button it causes the slide to advance to the next slide. When I open the advanced actions, I see that “continue” is added to the action. Is this automatic? What if I don’t want it to ‘continue’?
I tried to explain that if a command is replaced by Continue in an advanced actions, it means that it was broken. Example: command ‘Jump to’ is pointing to a slide by label but that slide cannot be found. Second example: ‘Change state of….’ but the state name cannot be found or the multistate object. Third one: ‘Assign var… with’ but the variable is not defined in this course.
In the last screenshot the first command is ‘Continue’, was that meant to be so, or did you have originally another command?
Another reason can be that the same name has been used for more than one item, action, decision….
BTW Play/pause is not at all a simple functionality, hope you realize that. Here is a link to an interactive video explaining the creation of a toggle Play/Pause button:
‘Continue’ is the default command. If something is corrupt in an advanced action, cannot be validated, it will be replaced by ‘Continue’. It will never be ‘added’ as you told. Believe me, I have a whole blog (10 years) dedicated to advanced and shared actions. Can you please post a screenshot of the Previewed advanced actions?
