Can’t Open Shared Captivate File

My coworkers and I are sharing project files. Two of us have no issues opening each other’s files. The 3rd person cannot open our files and we cannot open her files. We receive and error message that says:

Adobe Captivate could not open “xxx.cptx”. Ensure that:

– The file is not open already.

– The file is not damaged. For example, if the file was an email attachment, ensure that you have decoded the file correctly.

– The hard disk has sufficient available space.

– The system has sufficient resources. To optimize the resources, close all the other open applications.

I have researched and tried several options that don’t seem to work.  One post said to ensure the version is the same. We are all on Captivate 2019, but the build numbers are different. For example, I have 11.0.0.243 and the person who’s file  I cannot open has 11.5.0.476.

Could that be the issue? If we all upgrade to the latest build, will it cause an issue with our current files?

I’m having the same issue. I have the same version on my work desktop, and when I work from home, on the same project I send the file to myself at work to ensure I’m working with the most current file version. I have not had the issues until about a week ago.

Did you or the IT people  install any updates since a week? Are you on Windows or Mac? Can you offer the full version number of Captivate you are using on both systems?

I’m having the same problem. I’m using 11.5 and found out my client is using 11.0 and is going to update to see if that solves the problem. I’ll let you know if it does.

It should be fine after update. The difference between 11.0 and 11.5 is very big, many new features. It would be nice to give the promised feedback.

I’m having the same problem. My client who is on ll.0 can’t open my files any longer and I’m on 11.5. I asked her to update to see if this fixes the problem. I’ll post if it works.
